A personal finance platform's study of 300 US cities placed Murfreesboro at #10 overall for first-time home buyers, putting Tennessee near the top.
In the same study, Chattanooga did not appear on the top 300 list, showing how uneven first-time buyer opportunities looked across Tennessee.
Murfreesboro also posted a strong Real Estate Market rank of 14, a category built from indicators like affordability, taxes, crime, and other factors.
Its Quality of Life rank came in at 114, suggesting Murfreesboro's top-10 overall finish leaned more on market conditions than lifestyle measures.
Within Tennessee, Murfreesboro stood out in the rankings, giving first-time buyers one clear reference point while Chattanooga remained absent from the list.
